This one is inspired by John Holloway´s book Crack Capitalism. Anything we do just for fun without any commercial value, such as being in a small d.i.y. punk band, creates a fissure in this money-driven system we live in.

We are told to hustle, to invest, to widen our portfolio of economic activities. We are fed stories of the rich and successful every single fucking day and I am through with it. Stick your Forbes up your ass!

All the grand narratives of the 20th century have collapsed. We are drowning in the post-modern nihilism up to our ears and the only thing that we have left is cynicism.

It´s fairly simple. Economic austerity breeds extremism. When you have desperate people lacking social safety net, it is perfectly obvious they will vote for anyone promising them a brighter future. And fastcists and xenophobes count on that. Buzzwords such as democracy and western values don´t mean shit to people struggling to make ends meet.
